Summary of Evidence/Reason for Referral Unit 10: Engaging with an Audience in Creative Media Production To achieve a Pass grade the learner must achieve all of the following criteria;x x Wadzanai Ngandu Assessment Criteria for PASS R= Referral, S = satisfactory, HS = High Standard, VHS = Very High Standard R S HS VHS Summary of Evidence/Reason for Referral 1.1 Analyse the characteristics of the audience for a chosen creative media production activity. x Task 1 Analyse the audience 10.1.1 Research the audience breakdown of the Sheffield Star and create an infographic of your findings. Feedback: Task 2 Interacting with an audience 10.1.2 Research and explain how the Sheffield Star and other online news organisations interact with an audience using social media. Produce a blog post of your findings. Include screenshots and survey results Feedback: Wadzi, you have attempted to interpret JICREG statistics and I can see some basic analysis. Your infographics aren't very clear, in fact,  I have no idea what the last slide on your PowerPoint means. Be careful when presenting information this way, It's important an infographic to with simple to understand. Your audience interaction post is incomplete. What you have done so far is a good standard, but you need to finish it. Referral  actions; 1. Look at 2 other online news organisations and explore more strategies that could be used by the Star to better engage an audience. 2. Conduct a focus group or create a survey and share with a selection of 16-25 year olds to find out how best to interact with them.  Tracy 1.2 Interpret research activity to develop ideas and creative proposals for a chosen audience. 2.1 Demonstrate independence in decision making in planning and developing creative solutions. Plan, develop and produce a portfolio 10.2.1 Task 3 Create your own content to share with an audience in a professional context. Task 4 Communicate with an audience: Using social media 10.2.2 Set up Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (or any other platforms justified via research) to share your content and link your social media platforms to analytics. The aim is to be creative in interacting with an audience in addition to simply sharing your copy (e.g. polls, short videos, Gifs, memes) and build followers. You must make sure you regularly update your social media networks. Create a blog post detailing how you are planning your social media posts and engaging with your audience through your social media.   Feedback: Wadzi, you have uploaded 3 articles to your portfolio but only 2 are complete. The Viva one is half finished. What you have written so far is a satisfactory standard but you need to finish the third article. Your planning and use of social media, however, is a much higher standard. You have used Google calendar as a planning tool and kept a reflective production diary explaining how you are engaging with your audience. Well done. Referral action: Finish your portfolio copy 2.2 Select appropriate media and processes to communicate ideas for an identified audience. 3.1 Critically evaluate creative solutions against identified audience characteristics. Task 5  Evaluate and reflect 10.3.1, 10.3.2 Evaluate your content production against your audience’s expectations. Refer to your analytics’ data and how this unit will inform your plans for your final major project. Feedback - Your evaluation is detailed  Well done. You have, for example, reflected on the performance of specific posts, examined data gathered through analytics tools and have identified strategies that were key to your success (or otherwise). You have reflected on your planning, application of knowledge and experience, social media related strategies for engaging with an audience and your self development. You could discuss in more detail how the unit has developed your understanding of working to a professional brief. Other than that, you have produced an excellent evaluation. Shelina 3.2 Critically evaluate and reflect on learning to inform personal development. Has the student passed the Unit? Pass: Referral: Referral Actions: See above. Deadline 28/2/18 Date: 11th June 2014
