Unit 4 : Critical and Contextual awareness in Creative Media Production Assessor: Shelina Mawani-Markin Assessment & Grading Recording Sheet To achieve a Pass grade the learner must achieve all of the following criteria; AAA Student name: Tom Blagg Assessment Criteria for PASS R= Referral, S = satisfactory, HS = High Standard, VHS = Very High Standard R S HS VHS Summary of Evidence/Reason for Referral 1.1 Compare a range of critical perspectives that influence the analysis of creative media production activities.  x        Tom, your blog post Critical evaluation of ways of analysing journalism texts is not complete unfortunately because you have evaluated Neale’s theory on genre. Look again at the blog post instructions. The rest of the blog post demonstrates a very good understanding of the theory of news values as proposed by Galtung and Ruge. Well done. 1.2 Apply knowledge of critical perspectives that influence the analysis of creative media production activities.  Your comparative analysis of a range of journalism genres is of a good standard. You have identified key similarities and differences between genres and have analysed specific examples. To gain a higher grade, although you have discussed news values in relation to audio, you could have discussed news values in more detail in relation to all the genres. 1.3 Apply knowledge and understanding of critical perspectives to support own practice. Your feature article analysis is good in terms of your evaluation of whether or not the article is based on the conventions of feature writing. However, you were required to also discuss the news values of the article. 2.1 Critically compare a range of contexts within which creative media technology and production are situated.  The blog post has not been completed. I am not sure that this is an example of plagiarism. If it is a quote you must remember that plagiarism is not allowed. If you want to use a quote, use quotation marks and include a reference.
