Quick start guide MS110 SHIPPING/Set Up/ Operation REQUIREMENTS COMRENT Quick start guide MS110 SHIPPING/Set Up/ Operation REQUIREMENTS REV 0 JAN 2019

SHIPPING FIRST THING TO KNOW IS THE WEIGHT AND DIMENSIONS OF THE MS110 Shipping - WEIGHT = 3,429 LBS., DIMS = 90.5”L X 59.75”W X 81.75” H UNIT IS SELF CONTAINED AND DOES NOT REQUIRE A CAGE. SECOND THING TO KNOW IS THE PACKAGING REQUIREMENTS UNIT HAS AUXILARY COMPONENTS THAT MUST BE STORED INSIDE UNIT STORAGE COMPARTMENT. Storage Compartment

SHIPPING THE PREFERRED METHOD OF SHIPMENT IS ON AN OPEN CARRIER. UNITS CAN BE SHIPPED IN A VAN/ENCLOSED TRAILER BUT, DUE TO THE SIZE, IT WOULD BE DIFFICULT TO MOVE INSIDE VAN WHEN PLACED INSIDE TRAILER. SPECIAL CONSIDERATION AND PRE-PLANNING MUST BE MADE IF THIS COURSE OF SHIPMENT IS ATTEMPTED. WHEN PLACED ON TRAILER, CHAINS AND BINDERS SHALL BE USED TO SECURE UNIT TO DECK OF TRAILER THROUGH SIDE OR END FORKLIFT POCKETS. WHEN PLACED ON TRAILER, THE PREFERRD METHOD IS TO PLACE UNIT WITH FANS POINTING TOWARDS DRIVER OR PASSENGER SIDE OF TRAILER TO PREVENT FANS FROM “FREEWHEELING” DURING SHIPMENT. IF AVAILABLE SPACE DOES NOT ALLOW UNIT TO BE PLACED WITH FAN TOWARD SIDE OF TRAILER, UNIT SHALL BE TARPED TO PREVENT FAN MOVEMENT DURING SHIPMENT. FAN TOWARDS SIDE OF TRAILER CHAINS THROUGH FORKLIFT POCKETS CHAINS THROUGH FORKLIFT POCKETS

BASIC SET UP NOTE: These are basic generic set up procedures. For specific requirements, refer to operators manual for unit. Inspect unit for obvious damage such as broken wires, dented panels, cracked insulators or any other component breakage that may have occurred during shipment. The MS110 is considered an outdoor unit and can be utilized indoors or outdoors. Load bank must be used in a cool well ventilated area. Ensure that unit is placed with adequate intake and exhaust clearances. 3 feet intake and 16 feet exhaust clearance must be maintained to avoid recirculation. Additionally, all temperature sensitive items shall not be within 30 feet of exhaust. If multiple load banks are being installed, ensure that units are not competing for intake air or exhaust of one unit is not being drawn into intake of another unit. Secure load bank area to ensure only authorized personnel have access to load banks. This is typically accomplished with temporary fencing or Danger tape. Ensure that any material utilized to secure area does not have the possibility of being drawn into intake fans of units. This will damage unit and possibly cause a fire due to the high temperature of resistors. When installing, follow standard Lock-out/Tag-out procedures to ensure all personnel are safe.

Load & Ground Cable connection Cam Loks BASIC SET UP Ensure unit is solidly grounded. Connect all load cables to load bank. Load & Ground Cable connection Cam Loks

BASIC SET UP The MS110s have capability of providing fan power externally or internally as well. A plug is provided for external fan power, please refer to manual drawings for plug wiring requirements. Since there a 2 each voltage type MS110s (480 & 600 VAC) the proper quantity of load cables/pigtails must be installed for voltage applied depending on which unit you have. - 480 VAC- 4 per phase (1204 amps) - 600 VAC- 3 per phase (963 amps) Cam Lok Connection Panel

BASIC SET UP The MS110s have the capability of internal/external control power as well. The control panel has a “Fan & Controls Supply Selector” switch which determines if fan & controls are powered off load bus or external plug. If external fan & control power is required, the Hubbell plug located on the intake side of the unit must be connected utilizing a customer furnished cord capable of delivering 25 amps @ rated voltage. Photo of typical plug with cams are on next page. Hubbell plug is fitted with cam loks, it is recommended that 1/0 ComRent cables be utilized but customer can supply cord cable if desired as long as cable is capable of carrying 25 amps, 3 phase. External Fan & Control Power Connection Fan & Control Isolation Switch Fan & Control Supply Selector

BASIC SET UP Turn Supply Selector Switch to external. If internal fan & control power is required, turn the Supply Selector Switch to internal. The fan & controls also has an Isolation Switch, this must remain off until unit is ready to be utilized. Ensure all unit doors are closed. Hubbell plug with Cam connectors

Start & Stop/Reset Buttons/Lights Supply-on-Test Status Light BASIC SET UP Ensure all local switches are in the off position. If Sigma IHT is being utilized (preferred method), ensure communications cables are connected. Supply the appropriate Control, Fan & Load power to unit. Follow LOTO procedures. Ensure the Fan & Control Supply Selector is in the position required for power. Turn on the Isolator Switch for fan & controls. Once power is supplied to unit the Start & Stop/Reset button lights will illuminate. After 15 seconds the Start light will go out. Press the start button. Set up IHT Sigma operations per Sigma manual or Sigma IHT Quickstart Guide. Start & Stop/Reset Buttons/Lights Supply-on-Test Status Light

BASIC OPERATION NOTE: These are basic generic operating procedures. For specific requirements, refer to operators manual for unit. The MS110 is a remote operated unit therefore all operations and monitoring shall be done with the IHT controller. The control panel is only utilized for initial set-up and emergency operations (IHT lost/damaged). Turn on the Isolator Switch for fan & controls. Once power is supplied to unit the Start & Stop/Reset button lights will illuminate. After 15 seconds the Start light will go out. Press the start button. Fan shall start. If fan does not operate in the correct direction, the Sigma II system will recognize the phase reversal and auto-correct, no manual corrections are required but the operator should physically verify that the fan is operating in the correct direction to ensure the Sigma system has operated properly. Once Load power is supplied to unit, the “Supply-on-Test Status” light should illuminate. If light is off there is no power supplied, if light is on, normal operations are ready, if light is flashing the supply power is out of limits and should be investigated. Set up IHT Sigma operations per Sigma manual or Sigma IHT Quickstart Guide. Inspect unit surrounding prior to placing any load for personnel or objects, the area shall be quarantined to only essential personnel performing test. It is important to routinely monitor area during testing to ensure area is clear. Perform required load test utilizing the Sigma IHT. All unit parameters can be monitored on the Sigma IHT. When testing is completed, turn off load and allow unit to cool down for 5 minutes prior to shutting unit down and removing power.
