1 Generic Site Preparation
IOS and STSs should be arranged to allow student access and instructor supervision while providing efficient cable routing. Once a site has been identified and floor space area dimensioned, FAAC will provide a detailed simulator layout including necessary power access and cable routing. Doors- widths and heights of entrances Any passages or doorways must be at least 80” wide and 80” in height. Clear-space requirements No column intrusion allowed Forklift lanes Any Forklift Lanes must be at least 96” wide and 80” in height. Frequencies tolerances - 60Hz , +/- 5Hz Phase - Single Phase, 120 VAC. Kilovolt-amperes -maximum demand and continuous load requirements specified are a breakdown of electrical components and their peak current draws. Illumination Indirect overhead lighting. No direct, clear windows

2 Generic Site Preparation
Floor loading Standard 6 bag mix 4000 PSI non-air entrained 4” thick concrete pad is capable of supporting loading requirements. Normal maximum loading would be 2000 lbs. Environmental Requirements The recommended operating temperature is degrees Fahrenheit and is directly related to operator and student comfort. The recommended operational tolerance is 32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit and 5% to 90% humidity, non-condensing. Compressed Air Delivery Pressurized air system capable of supplying 150psi. The pressurized air system requires a dryer.Pressurized air system capable of 4 CFM at 150psi. One standard Pneumatic Quick Disconnect fitting per STS unit. Air drops shall be equipped with blade cutoff for maintenance purposes.

3 Generic Site Preparation
Generic Combined Footprint This includes One IOS, STS and AAR station in a hypothetical config. Layouts done with this footprint may be invalidated during Site Survey. Motion Base Simulator Envelope IOS AAR 36’ Forklift Lane 28’

4 Generic Site Preparation
Generic Electrical Requirements The electrical service requirements listed are generic for facility selection purposes. Major Component Quantity Current Per Unit Total Current Draw IOS 1 40 Amps 2 – 20 amp circuits STS 109 Amps 4 – 20 amp circuits 1 – 40 amp twist-loc receptacle AAR 10 Amps 1 – 20 amp circuit

5 Generic Site Preparation
Generic Electrical Requirements – Continued A shunt trip relay must be installed by the facility to allow interrupting all power to the CDT receptacles A flexible drop will be required to the IOS terminating in a mushroom button for activation of the shunt trip. The shunt trip circuit must accept connection from a 5-volt output from the STS smoke detector. The smoke detector signal is designed to switch the shunt trip and remove all CDT power when activated.

6 Generic Site Preparation
IOS The IOS consists of a modular working surface/rack. All facility layouts should assume a 4-foot buffer around each stated dimension. The footprint is nominally 8’ long by 5’ wide by 6’6” high per pod.

7 Generic Site Preparation
IOS Electrical Requirements The electrical service requirements listed are peak current draws. This 25%-33% overestimation will be regarded as spare current capacity for facility planning purposes. Component Quantity Current Per Unit Total Current Draw IOS computer 1 6 Amps Node computer CGI computer IOS Monitors 2 3 Amps In-cab video monitors 4 2 Amps 8 Amps Sundry Other Components N/A 40 Amperes Total BTUs/hr 16,000

8 Generic Site Preparation
STS This includes a cab with a MOOG motion base surrounded by 3 visual display units. The height requirement of the full motion student training station is 12½ feet. For safety considerations, the dimensions are based upon the maximum movements of the motion base.

9 Generic Site Preparation
STS Fork lift access lanes for cab swaps are preliminarily set at 12 feet wide from rear of motion base. 12 foot width planned to include 4 foot railing offset from motion base and 8 foot wide lanes between safety railings, this is a minimum footprint. FAAC will be verifying lane width requirements with Site Survey. 2’ Buffer Motion Base Simulator Envelope 15’2” 19’ 4’ 8’ Forklift Aisle Lane

10 Generic Site Preparation

11 Generic Site Preparation
AAR Station The AAR Station consists of a modular working surface. All facility layouts should assume a 4-foot buffer around each stated dimension. The footprint is nominally 4’ long by 5’ wide by 6’6” high per pod. AAR Station 9’ 5’ 4’ 8’
