1 Compressor Operating Instructions

2 Compressor Pre-Delivery
- Thoroughly read through operation manual. - Check engine fluid levels Engine coolant level - Inspect safety stickers and understand all safety precautions and operating instructions Engine oil level Airend lubricating fluid

3 Compressor Pre-Delivery
Connect battery cables to terminals Fill gas tank (diesel fuel only) Close compressor service valves

4 Compressor Start Up Small Compressors
- If equipped, press “Service Air Button” to start the regular air flow through the airend. - Turn POWER switch to “ON.” Turn POWER switch to the GLOW PLUG position and hold 30 Seconds. - Turn POWER switch to the “START” position to crank engine. Hold switch in START position for approximately 5 sec. after engine starts. Once started and warmed, compressor is ready for use. Use proper safety precautions, including eye and ear protection, during operation for safety of all personnel and equipment. To ensure proper cooling and airflow keep compressor access doors closed during operation. Under no circumstances should oil flooded compressed air be used for breathing purposes. Allow engine to warm up for 5 to 19 minutes.

5 Compressor Start Up Large Compressors
Turn key to the “ON” position (electric compressor will turn on for equipped machines) Turn Switch to “START” within 10 seconds to crank engine *In Cold weather, push ether injection switch (if equipped) once or twice during cranking **If unit is equipped with glow-plugs use same procedure as the small machines Release to the “ON” position once started At Temperatures below 32° F (0 ° C) or if difficulty starting first time: Open manual blow down valve fully Complete starting sequence described above Once started close blow down valve

6 Compressor Operation Make appropriate connections between tool(s), hose(s) and outlets(s) Make sure a hose whip(s) are securely attached at connection points Open air valve on service outlet and use necessary precautions when operating tools When finished, close service air valves first to prevent backflow Shut down machine, see shut down instructions For safety, bleed remaining pressurized air from service lines by operating tool before disconnecting tools or hoses

7 Compressor Shut Down Allow machine to run idle with service valves closed for 3 to 5 minutes reduce the engine temperature Turn the POWER switch to the OFF position When engine stops, automatic blow valve should relieve system air pressure. If Automatic blow valve should malfunction, open manual blow-down valve slowly to release system pressure

8 Towing When manually maneuvering compressor use jockey wheel
Inspect tires for condition and proper inflation Only tow compressor with vehicle sized properly for compressor weight and at safe speeds, see operators manual Ensure auxiliary tools are stored in a secure and safe manor and that compressor doors are locked Connect safety chains to the towing vehicle Check that the compressor lights and brakes, if equipped, are functioning properly
