Making a mummy Ancient Egyptians belived that people could be preserved and go to the afterlife. Only rich people could have there bodys preserved.

Canopic Jars Canopic Jars are jars that have the heads of a falcon, jackal, human, Baboon. The Canopic Jars hold the organs. Imsety is the human Qebhsenuef is the falcan Hapy is the baboon Duamutef is the jacal.

Amulets The isis knot or tyet would be placed at the neck to protect the body. The heart amulet was placed over the heart to protect it. The scarab was placed over the upper abdomen it was a dung beetle which represented rebirth and rising and setting of the sun. The Udjat or Eye of Horus was placed on the abdomen ,over the cut made to remove the organs it was a symbol for good health that was shaped like the eye of a falcon god Horus.
