Friendly Letter Boogie Alicia Rao

Objective Designed to teach students the format of writing a simple letter.

Benefits Helps students remember the format of a letter rather than having to memorize the format. Gives students a fun and kinesthetic way to learn the format of a letter. Engaging and motivating for students. Works best with early elementary grades. Easy 5 step process.

First Step Heading This is where the “date” goes.

Second Step Greeting This is where you begin the letter with phrases such as “Dear…….”

Third Step Body The content of the letter comes next.

Fourth Step Closing This is where you close the letter with phrases such as “Sincerely”, & “Your friend”.

Fifth Step Signature Have the students sign their name with their foot.

Tips & Considerations Best implemented after modeling and teaching students how to write a format of a letter. Can add music or create a song that goes along with the movements.
