Mrs. Richoux’s Class Classroom Newsletter November Dates to Remember Classroom News October was a fun month full of learning and discovery. We went on a field trip to Steeds Dairy and learned all bout how butter is made and even got to see a cow get milked. We hope you have a wonderful month and enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday. November 12th – No School Veterans Day Holiday November 13th- World Kindness Day November 15th- Progress reports go home November 19-23 – Thanksgiving Break-No School Reminders Please remember to check and sign the behavior sheet daily. Suggestions for Success Reminders What We’re Learning Reading: Main idea, Recognizing key details in the story , Comparing and contrasting using a Venn diagram, Using our animal reading strategies to solve tricky words Phonics: Rhyming, Blending, Beginning Sounds, Segmenting, Syllables Writing: Narrative Stories with a beginning middle and an ends Math: Counting by 1’s to 100, Counting by 10’s to 100, Counting down from 20 to 0. Making groups of 10’s and 1’s, length, height, weight, measurement Science: Living vs. Non Living Spend time each day reviewing sight words. Suggestions for Success Search for sight words in books and magazines and use them to write sentences. Have your child practice tying their own shoes and zipping their own jacket. Have your child practice their name address, phone number, city, state and country Have your student read books to you and solve tricky words by checking the first sound, looking at the picture, stretching out the word (say the sounds) and asking does it make sense? Homework Please check and complete the homework on the monthly calendar. Remember to sign off every Friday and turn in completed work .Please complete reading log nightly.
