Classroom Procedures Walkthrough

Entering the Room/Bellwork Enter the room quietly and find your assigned seat. Read ALL directions. Retrieve the necessary materials. Get to work, or wait queitly for further instructions.

Packing Up Make sure all classroom materials are put away. Pack up your things. Push in your chair. Stand quietly behind your seat. If you are not quiet, you may miss any last minute instructions.

Stacking Chairs (6th Hour) Chairs will be stacked at the top of each group of tables. Chairs should be stacked 6 high. Once chairs are stacked, students should stand quietly at their assigned seat.

Attention Signals How will I get your attention? Clap once if you can here me. Call for attention.

Sharpening Pencils / Moving When should you sharpen your pencil? Before class begins When you have individual work time At the end of class When you have permission

Sharpening Pencils / Moving When shouldn’t you sharpen your pencil? When the teacher is talking When another student is talking When it will be a distraction to the class

Targets Learning and Literacy Targets will be posted daily. Please read the targets to understand what the goals of the day will be. Remind Mr. Blake to go over the Targets.

Turning in homework How will you turn in homework? Trays at the back of the room by hour Make sure name, date, and hour are on all assignments being turned in. No Name Bin

No Name Bin When should you access the No Name Bin? Before class begins. When you are finished with your assignment. Before or after school. When you have permission from Mr. Blake.

I lost my homework! What should you do if you lost your homework? Go on iLearn and print another copy. Check the weekly folders for a copy of the assignment. Check the old assignments bin for any assignment from the previous week.

I was absent. What should you do if you were absent? Make sure you are reading the blog Check the absent folders. Ask a classmate about any notes you may have missed. Ask a classmate if you have any questions about an assignment. See the teachers if you have any questions about missed work.

Hall Passes You will get six emergency passes per semester. You can use them for anything. Once they are gone, you will not be able to leave the room.

Borrowing a pencil? Drop a shoe… Mr. Blake will hand you a pencil.

Mr. Blake’s Desk When should you interact with Mr. Blake’s Desk? NEVER! Don’t touch anything on my desk.

I finished early…now what? What should you do if you finish early? Read a book. Review old material. Ask the teacher if you can assist other students. Ask if you can pass out papers. Ask if you can work on homework.

Late for class? Usually, if you come in late, I will ask you about it. If I don’t, here is what you can do. Come in the room quietly. Have a seat and get to work. If you have a pass, wait for an appropriate time to give it to me.

I’m going to puke! Find a garbage can. Alert the teacher. Go to the office.

I’m bleeding. Ask the teacher for a band-aid.

Leaving Early/Absences Wait for an appropriate time to Alert Mr. Blake. Let me know you will be leaving as far ahead of time as possible. Ask for permission before leaving. Make sure you check the blog for any homework or announcements.

Bullying Be an upstander. Alert Mr. Blake, another teacher or staff member.

Allergies/Health Concerns Please alert Mr. Blake of any medical conditions you feel he needs to be aware of.

Daily Schedule Where should you look to find out what the plan for the day will be? Check the board Write it in your planner.

Classroom Books Feel free to borrow any of the books from the bookshelf. Sign them out. Sign them back in.

Recycling Where is the recycling bin? What should go in the recycling bin? What should not go in the recycling bin?
