Welcome to Your Child’s Seat Thank you for coming today

General Routines Register is taken at 9:00 Collective Worship is held everyday at 9:10 Read, Write, Inc daily for 30 mins Maths and English every day PE: Wednesdays and Fridays

Start and end of the day Children can come the classroom from 8:45 onwards Independence The children will initially play when they come in but as the year progresses, they may have activities at the beginning of the day Letter has been sent out if you want to update the going home list. Adults to sign up for the bus

Into the Woods… Main book: ‘The Tin Forest’: story writing, setting description, lists and instructions Science: Materials- thinking about how to describe them and their properties Maths: number recognitions, number facts of different numbers (how many ways can we make 7), developing practical addition and subtractions moving that into simple problems Geography: developing mapping skills and contrast a rural area with a more developed area

Homework RWI spellings: given out on a Monday and tested on a Friday Reading books will be changed every Tuesday Reading at home- expectations (certificates!)

Progress A range of assessment strategies Continuous ongoing assessment If child is not on track to meet age related expectations then we will contact you Termly meetings with Mrs. Graham

Phonics Screening Carried out in June Very low key- the children aren’t aware that they are being tested
