8.45am – 8.50am Children should be lined up on their circle 8.55am Register 9.00am – 9.25am Morning Work (Carousel Activities) 9.30am – 10.30am English 10.30am – 10.45am Assembly 10.45am – 11.00am Playtime 11.00am – 12.00pm Maths 12.00pm – 1.00pm Lunchtime 1.00pm – 2.00pm Phonics followed by Mental Maths games/handwriting 2.00pm – 2.15pm Afternoon play 2.15pm – 3.15pm PE/Computing/Science/History/Geography etc. 3.15pm – 3.30pm Whole School Story Time 3.30pm Home time

6 Clothing Named PE Kit (Tuesdays & Wednesdays for both classes) – sent home each half term Forest School (March - June) Use knife - whittling skill (green wood to cook over fire), different types of knots, observe fire (cook damper bread over fire). ALL clothing MUST be named!

7 Homework English and Maths Homework Passport
One of the first activities children should complete is to cover their Home Journal – no 3D effects (pom-poms, sequins etc.) please! Your child’s teacher will add a name label to their Home Journal. Spellings – spelling test on Friday Maths A homework sheet will be sent home linked to our current maths work in class. Homework is taken in on Thursdays and given out again on Fridays. Reading books will be changed at least once a week. This gives you an opportunity to really discuss your child’s book in greater detail, checking for understanding.

8 SATs What will it involve?
The children will take 5 tests: 2 reading papers, GaPS, Maths – reasoning and arithmetic. How is it carried out? In smaller groups if needed to help children to do the best they can! When will it take place? May How can I help my child prepare for this? There will be meetings later in the year about how to best prepare for SATS. But please tell children now to worry! They will be fine.
