3 Transition from Year One
The children have already visited Year 2 and the teachers have been to visit them in their current classes. We continue to encourage the children to be independent and responsible. We will build on the skills and experiences that children have developed in Year 1. The children will still take part in self initiated, and independent activities. We give the children opportunities to use the outdoor environment.

4 Guided Reading Use the Read, Write Inc scheme continuing from Year 1. Most children will progress onto non-scheme books. Needs several adults per class every morning!! Training on how the scheme works in early September.
