June 3rd, 2014 Goal: Explain how Latin America achieved independence from the Europeans. QOD: List three reasons why Americans love George Washington.

Groupwork Create a poster containing the categories listed on your liberators chart (Fill the whole chart paper, write in big print) Add a visual and a nickname! There will be a monument build for ONE of the Latin American liberators. Who should it be? Argue that your liberator deserves the monument.

Bolivar Born to wealthy Spanish family in Venezuela- Creole Wanted to unite South America- wanted one country Used military to fight for freedom- fought in Panama, Venezuela, Colombia, and Ecuador Bolivia- named after him
