President James Madison Declares War on England (Great Britain)

The Battle of New Orleans Andrew Jackson was the commander of the American forces. His men were a melting pot of American society. January 8 1815, the British attacked New Orleans only to be caught in an open field and were cut down by Jackson’s forces. Jackson became a hero and a legend from this battle.

Treaty of Ghent It was signed December 24, 1814. The war established America as a true nation in the eyes of the world and produced true feelings of patriotism.
