4. Track Family History Progress Online Tracker Individuals can monitor their own family history learning progress with the Online Tracker database. Stakes, wards, consultants, and family history centers can run reports (as of 3/1/2019) in the Online Tracker to show ongoing data for family history skills. The database is secure and requires a free account. No personal information is shared. Learning progress is indicated by moving slider bars in the Online Tracker: 0 = Not Started; 1 = Started; 2 = Good; 3 = Proficient. Sample Online Tracker Reports Live reports are available after March 1, 2019. These samples show how the skill levels have transitioned from mostly “Not Started” to a mix of all skill levels, in the span of 4 weeks, as users update their skills in the Online Tracker. Temple and Family History Consultants The Family History Guide can be used by Ward Lead Consultants to train consultants quickly and reliably. Consultants don’t need to be the “library” … they can be the “librarians” with The Family History Guide. Consultants can teach from the website and Course Catalog, and learners can use the website at home. Consultants can use The Family History Guide in conjunction with the Consultant Planner on LDS.org. The Family History Guide is currently being used by Temple and Family History Consultants in many wards and family history centers around the world. Family History Centers The Family History Guide is used at the Family History Library in Salt Lake as a primary training tool for new family history missionaries. The Family History Guide is available in the Portal area at all 5,000 family history centers worldwide. The website appeals to both members and non- members, with learning tools for Ancestry, MyHeritage, Findmypast, country pages, etc. The Family History Guide can be an important part of the training experience at family history centers.
