Anaerobic Respiration in Plants WALT: State the equation for anaerobic respiration in plants and apply it to real life situations

Glucose ethanol + carbon dioxide + energy Plants and yeast cells use anaerobic respiration to convert glucose into ethanol. Glucose ethanol + carbon dioxide + energy How is this different from anaerobic respiration in animals?

Beer Making Barley is boiled with water to release the sugar. Yeast is added and enzymes in this convert the sugar to alcohol. Beer is usually filtered and the yeast is recycled to make more beer. Watch the clip of how beer is made https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvi-x-JrTPg

Bread Making Flour is mixed with water, yeast, salt and sugar to make a dough. The dough is left in a warm environment to allow anaerobic respiration (called fermentation). Fermentation produces carbon dioxide gas, which makes the dough rise. The bread is baked, killing the yeast and evaporating the alcohol. Holes are left in the mixture where CO2 gas expanded.
