5 forwards, 5 backs, 1 goalie 11 players on a soccer team Soccer 1. Although our games are played with four to six players on each team, a normal team has 11 players. There are 5 forwards, 5 backs, and 1 goalie.

Soccer The object is to legally move the ball down the field and kick or head the ball into the opponent’s goal.

Soccer 2. In regular soccer the game is started with a Center Kick on the mid field line. The ball must be kicked forward and the person kicking the ball may not touch it again until it has been touched by another player. Game starts with a CENTER KICK The ball must be kicked FORWARD The ball may not be touched again until it has been TOUCHED by another player

Soccer 1 3. A goal in soccer is worth point.

Soccer 4. The only player who may touch the ball with his/her hands is the goalie. They may only do this in the goal area. The goalie may then punt, kick, roll or pass the ball to a team mate within 3 seconds.

Soccer Other Soccer Rules: A player may substitute any number of times as long as the ball is dead. A goal is worth one (1) point. A penalty goal is worth one (1) point. A player may dribble, volley, block, trap, or pass the ball. After each goal the ball returns to mid-field and the team that did not score the goal does a center kick.

Soccer 5. In soccer, a ball on the line is considered in or out of bounds.

Soccer 6. A soccer game consists of two 45 minute periods.

Soccer 7. There are five ways to put the ball into play in soccer. List them below. Throw-In: from the sideline. Goal Kick: when the ball goes out of bounds over the end line and is last touched by the offensive team. Corner Kick: when the defensive team kicks the ball out of bounds over the end line. Drop Ball: when players from both the offensive and defensive teams kick the ball out of bounds at the same time a drop ball is taken. Center Kick: start of the game or after a goal.

Soccer 8. If the ball goes out of bounds over the side line, it is put into play by means of a Throw-in.

Soccer 9. If the ball goes out of bounds over the end line, and is last touched by the defensive team, it is put back into play by means of a Corner Kick.

Soccer 10. If the ball goes out of bounds over the end line, and is last touched by the offensive team, it is put back into play by means of a Goal Kick.

Soccer 11. When players from both the offensive team and defensive team kick the ball out of bounds at the same time a Drop Ball is taken.

Soccer 12. Soccer Terminology: Blocking: Intercepting the progress of the ball with some part of the body. It is legal to block with the arms and hands if they are in total contact with the body. Dribbling: means of advancing the ball with the feet. Carrying: when the goal keeper breaks the rule by taking more than four (4) steps while holding, bouncing, or throwing the ball. Drop ball: referee holds the ball waist high and lets the ball drop to the ground between two players. Handling: contacting the ball with hands or arms when not in contact with body. Off sides: when a player is nearer his/her opponent’s goal than the ball without having two defensive players between him/her. Trapping: stopping the ball by securing it under the foot between both feet or between the front of the leg and the ground. Unnecessary Roughness: any act, which might cause or does cause injury to an opponent this includes dangerous kicking or kicking at close range directly into another player.

Soccer 14. If a foul occurs outside of the penalty area the opposite team is awarded a free kick . If a foul occurs inside the penalty area by the defense the offensive team is awarded a penalty kick If the offensive team fouls in the penalty area the defensive team is awarded a free kick.
