WE’RE THE GAUTENG GROWTH & DEVELOPMENT AGENCY (GGDA) Our Mandate The implementing arm of the Gauteng Department of Economic Development and to assist the department to lead, facilitate and manage sustainable job creation and inclusive economic growth and development in the Gauteng City Region. Our Vision The premier catalyst of innovative and sustainable growth and socio-economic development within the southern African region. Overview Attraction of foreign direct investment (FDI) Business Retention and Expansion Trade Promotion and Export Development Economic Infrastructure Research, Economic Information and Business Intelligence Our Mission To create an enabling environment for growth targeted investment facilitation, strategic infrastructure development and social transformation, thus positioning Gauteng as a leading Global City Region GGDA holdings has two key teams tasked with implementing the provinces strategy. The Trade, Investment and Regulatory Enablement (TIRE) Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) Attraction of foreign direct investment (FDI) domestic direct investment that supports the modernization and reindustrialization of Gauteng’s economy. Increase the global investment and trade footprint of Gauteng enterprises. Increase intra-Africa trade The purpose EPMO sub-programme is to provide transversal services in respect of centralized and coordinated management of capital infrastructure projects. This is achieved through strategic economic infrastructure that supports and facilitates radical economic transformation and the reindustrialization of Gauteng.

OUR SERVICES The GGDA has become a one-stop-shop, to support investors and exporters with the following critical functions, effectively and efficiently: Business Permits and Visas: Business Permits (with the DTI): Assisting with company registrations and work permits Site identification and Evaluation: Undertaking the coordination, pre planning and evaluation of sites for our clients and post sites visit Sector Economic Data Provision: Providing and disseminating market intelligence on sectoral and regional economic data Export Development Investment Incentives: Facilitating access to national and local government incentives Facilitating local & foreign business retention, expansion and after-care services Inward and Outward Investment Promotion Missions: Hosting and coordinating inbound foreign and local business delegations and undertaking outbound missions to promote Gauteng as a premier investment destination 1 2 3 7 6 5 4

GGDA ECOSYSTEM GGDA Holding Company Innovation Hub OR TAMBO IDZ InvestSA Gauteng AIDC Conhill AIDC manages the Automotive Supplier Park (ASP) and provides services to the automotive sector and the automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). AIDC provides assistance through automotive investment facilitation, skills development and training, incubation programmes and supply chain development. The Innovation Hub is the first Science and Technology Park (STP) by international standards in Southern Africa. Established with a view to spurring the development of smart industries (high-technology sectors) in Gauteng, TIH’s role in the provincial innovation ecosystem is to be a catalyst for innovation and a key knowledge economy driver, in line with the Gauteng Growth and Development Strategy. The core purpose of ConHill is to add to the rejuvenation of the Johannesburg Inner City through the development and promotion of the ConHill Heritage Project. The Industrial Development Zone (IDZ) was established to support industrial development in Gauteng Province with specific focus on export-oriented, value-added industry, concentrated around OR Tambo International Airport, in Ekurhuleni. The GIC is located in the centre of South Africa’s business, commerce and financial district - Sandton. For visiting and incoming businesses, our staff provides connections to government departments and agencies and market knowledge to ensure a smooth integration into Gauteng, or anywhere in South Africa. For local businesses, the GIC connects regional companies interested in venturing into foreign markets with international companies who are exploring investments and expansions into Africa. The GIC acts as a conduit for Gauteng based companies interested in accessing international opportunities and business development programs and services.
