Communications New Website: New Gate to McAllister Park: from ProComm Here is the new link, take a look for announcements'. http://www.neighborhoodlink.com/Brookstone-San_Antonio/home New Gate to McAllister Park: * We have a new gate with a lock. This was done due to the fact that we have had a number of people using our neighborhood as a “go between” . For the protection of our families we have added a lock to the gate with limited access for our residents. * Each homeowner will be given one key, per request at no charge. Additional keys or lost/replacements may be purchased for an additional costs to the homeowner. * On December 3, 2009, at 6:00 p.m., ProComm will be at the park on Longleaf Coral to distribute keys to each homeowner. * To obtain a key you must: Come in person, an adult must come and sign for the key Present a valid ID You may order and pay for additional keys on December 3, 2009.

Q’ & A’s from ProComm Why aren’t we putting in a pool? Four reasons: 1) KB Homes, indicated that the possibilities for a pool, recreation center, and other facilities, however, it was never promised. Please read the KB Home disclosure statement, in your covenant, dated August 3, 2001. These documents were given to each homeowner who purchased a lot in this subdivision. 2) For the past four years the HOA has had more than 45% of the homeowners one or more years delinquent on their dues. This leaves the board struggling to pay operating costs for the subdivision.

Q’ & A’s from ProComm Why aren’t we putting in a pool?, continued, 3) The cost of insurance, maintenance and repairs is not able to be maintained by the subdivision. This is due to the small size of the subdivision as well as the chronic delinquencies. 4) Space, the back lot behind Longleaf Coral, is a flood zone and building is restricted, as per the city of San Antonio Development group. The flood zone has expanded to include some of the homes which are adjacent to the lot. A number of inquiries have been made as to what could be put in that lot. After considerable research the solution is to provide a space for recreation.

Q’ & A’s from ProComm What is being done about all the cars parked in the street? ProComm is having our security tag cars, and actively towing cars The covenant has a “two strikes” policy which ProComm is strictly enforcing. If you get tagged more than twice you will be towed at your expense Talk with your neighbors, report issues to ProComm Each home is a single family dwelling, four cars are allowed, two in the garage, and two in the driveway, if you have more cars then that you need to make storage or other parking arrangements.

Q’ & A’s from ProComm “Our kids don’t have anywhere to play, besides the street”! Wetmore Elementary has a soccer/football field, playground and basketball goals. You may use these any time other than when school or KINS is in session. KINS usually ends at 6:15 p.m. daily. Each home comes with a front and back yard, if you don’t’ want to send your kids to the school. We all understand that some lots are smaller than others, but you do have the school. By being able to use the equipment and fields at Wetmore lowers our costs of maintenance and repairs. A gate was installed between Brookstone and Wetmore for your convenience and use.

Q’ & A’s from ProComm “The playground on Viking Oak is always a mess, what is the HOA going to do about it”? This park as well as other areas are part of our community. All neighbors are invited to take part in keep all areas clean. The landscape company only is able to clean when they are here; however, that is only once a week, therefore we ask that you take part in keeping the park free of trash. In the last two years we have replaced the rope swing three times, stabilized the entire play set, repaired the canopy, fixed numerous broken sprinkler heads as well as replaced sprinkler pipes pulled up from the ground. These repairs are very expensive and preventable. Please supervise your children and instruct them to clean up after themselves in the common areas.
