This is to ensure that students are continually adding to their personal vocabulary. One of the biggest differences between below average students and above average students is their vocabulary. Students acquire their vocabulary through reading and meaningful discussion with adults.  Other homework will typically be assigned weekly.. When homework is assigned, students will be expected to responsibly write it in their planners. I will sign the planners of students who bring the planner to me to sign.
