Kindergarten News Week of November 5th – 9th Mrs. Sirmon’s Monday Focus Skills Sight Words –me, big, ran, no, go Home Learning Monday Read CORE 15.3 Complete Math page 3 Reading and Writing Identifying and retelling characters, setting, and events. Writing opinions Core Knowledge Blending sounds to form words and segmenting sounds to break words apart. Practicing the sound and formation of letters m, a, t, d, o, c, g, i ,n, h, s, f, v, z, p, e , b, l, and r AND putting these letters together to spell and read words. Math Comparing the length of two objects by using the vocabulary shorter than, taller than, and longer than. Science Using observations to identify weather patterns over time. Tuesday Complete the sight word sheet sent home. Important Dates: November 5th-9th –Thanksgiving Food November 8th - Zoo Field Trip-bring a bag lunch and drink labeled with your child’s name November 9th - Early Dismissal at12:35 p.m. November 12th-November 16th – Progress Reports sent home this week November 14th – PACT Session on Reading and Writing skills at 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. November 15th-Thanksgiving Feast—Students can wear Pilgrim or Native American costumes. 10:45-11:25-Swint and Triche 10:50-11:30-McGowan and Bickham 10:55-11:35-Clark and Duet 11:40-12:20-Tregre and Trapani 11:45-12:25-Sirmon and Robertson 11:50-12:30-Weimer November 19th - November 23rd – No School due to Thanksgiving holidays November 28th – Santa Pictures – more information will to come Wednesday Complete CORE 2.2 Our field trip is tomorrow!
