Language Arts – Letters P and Q (handwriting / letter recognition / sign language / sound / song); Color Word: pink; writing in our kindergarten journals (writing the date and a simple sentence to match our picture); literature about Thanksgiving, alphabet letters and Native American tales; Story retelling; Listening skills; Following directions
Math – Counting to 25; Calendar math; Shape: Diamond/Rhombus; Patterns; Ordinal Numbers; Interactive Math Journals; 5 Frames & 10 Frames
Social Studies – Thanksgiving
Buddies – We met with our 3rd grade buddies again to create Turkey Glyphs that are hanging in the hall outside our door!
This week we were busy learning and reading about Native Americans, Pilgrims, and Thanksgiving. We had a great time at our first ever Turkey Trot activity on Thursday where we practiced literacy skills like rhyming, beginning sounds, color words, and spelling the word turkey! Thank you to all of the parents and grandparents who helped out! We could not have done it without you!
There is no school for kindergarten next week as I will be meeting with parents for conferences. I won’t see your child again until Tuesday, Nov. 29th! I hope you all have a wonderful Fall Break with your families!
