Sessions to Invest in: Join more than 2,800 practitioners, providers and presenters at the California HR Conference by Professionals In Human Resources Association. The concurrent sessions are presented by skilled and experienced speakers in HR Compliance, California Employment Law, Business & HR Strategy, Talent Management, Global HR, Total Rewards, Professional Development, Nonprofit HR, and the CHRO function. https://cahrconference.org/

PIHRA Inland Valley CA HR Conference Stipend PIHRA Inland Valley is proud to offer two stipends to the California HR Conference for one professional and one student Student Applicant Eligibility: Be an enrolled student. Be a member in good standing with the PIHRA student chapter. Be a member in good standing with PIhra Central (with current student membership). Submit a paragraph on what you plan to accomplish with the learnings from the conference. Certify commitment to attend a full day of the conference and accept all other cost necessary for such attendance (parking, meals, etc.). Submit a fully and accurately completed application form no later than May 31, 2019 Applications are due May 31, 2019. Applicants meeting the eligibility requirements will be entered into a random drawing from which one professional member and one student will be selected. Application & Cover Letter HERE!

Topic: “Life of DFEH Complaint” an overview of the process Tina Walker Regional Administration for Southern California, Department of Fair Employment and Housing Tina Walker is the Assistant Deputy Director of Employment of the Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) Los Angeles. The DFEH is the largest state agency in the country charged with enforcing civil rights laws. Ms. Walker has worked for the DFEH since 1999 and started her career as a Consultant, was subsequently promoted to Supervisor, District Administrator, Regional Administrator, and ultimately to her current position. She has oversight of the entire Employment division throughout the five DFEH office locations. Ms. Walker represents the DFEH in all aspects of its operations with the public, legislators, and other stakeholders. Most recently, as part of the DFEH’s strategic plan, Ms. Walker is charged with developing and implementing new policy and procedures in specialized investigative work. She also has received numerous DFEH Director’s Awards for excellence in leadership, management, program development, and implementation. Ms. Walker serves as liaison with their federal partner the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) in relation to the work-share agreement between the two agencies. Ms. Walker serves as an Advisor to Employment Round Table Southern California (ERTSC) and Northern California Employment Round Table (NCERT).
