Proposal Big picture and small details Detail: Plan out every experiment Preliminary data (ideally on another short grant/fellowship) ~15 sections Justification of resources Impact – clear pathways to impact Feedback from as many people as you can Supporting letters from collaborators Supportive reviewers Bias everything in your favour!

Interview Organize mock interviews 10 minutes presentations, 10 minutes of questions ~15 member panel, hotel conference room Judged on presentation/enthusiasm – make it as compelling (and pretty) as you can Three people asking questions Broad themes: Science (based on reviewers’ questions), Leadership, Impact
