3. Why the Wellcome trust? Advantages Disadvantages
Preliminary application first- less wasted time?
No costings required- saves you time.
Much shorter application than NIHR/ MRC
Disadvantages
You have to start the full application anyway
Can’t reapply with the same project (unless requested)
Funds only you

Use ALL the space on the application form (don’t repeat things & be creative!)
Read the eligibility criteria and work it in to your application
Send your drafts to Gwen & Darren
Speak to researchers who have been successful & ask their advice
Leave enough time (finance and JRO sign off)

6. Interview 15 panel members Preparation
3 will ask majority of questions but then its opened up to the rest.
