Foreshadowing in “The Most Dangerous Game” By: Charles Bryant By: Jules Ibong By: Isaac Monrroy By: Regina Canlas By: Aldrin Uy

Foreshadowing The author gives us clues or indications to what is going to happen later in the story. !

Examples of Foreshadowing Common Example In a western movie, the good guy enters a bar, has a drink, and leaves. The bad guy scowls and spits on the floor and you know there is definitely more to come between them. In Literature “Life were better ended by their hate, Than death prorogued, wanting of thy love.”

Example #1 This quote is found on page 1 line 3 “The old charts call it Ship Trap Island.” This quote is found on page 1 line 3 This quote is an example of foreshadowing because the author gave us this as a clue that General Zaroff’s island is a trap.

Example #2 “A high screaming loud sound, the sound of an animal in extremity of anguish and terror” This quote is found on page 3 of the article “The Most Dangerous Game” This is an example of foreshadowing because the quote leads a curiosity on what’s happening.

Example #3 “I did fell something like a sudden chill.” This quote is from pg.2 This quote is an example for foreshadowing because he feels something will go wrong, or something bad is going to happen.

Example #4 “Someone had fired a gun three times This quote is found on page 2 of ”The Most Dangerous Game” I believe this quote shows foreshow doing because this is the part were Rains ford herd then tree gunshots and was curious which leads on to the next part

Why? And what? Why? Richard Connell used foreshadowing to direct the attention of the readers from one event to another and to let us know that something is important. What? Foreshadowing added depth and complexity to Richard Connell’s story of humans hunting humans, but it is mainly used to create suspense.

THE END Thank you for your cooperation and attention! Hope you learned some new, exciting things.
