The first important thing in the story that happened was that Rainsford fell off the yacht as said on page 20,”a short, horse cry came from his lips as he realized he had reached to far and had lost his balance”. In this setting it’s dark outside and it foreshadows something bad happening plus falling off the boat makes it suspenseful and it’s how Rainsford got onto Ship Trap Island it also shows Rainsford was reckless.

3. The second most important event was when General Zaroff admitted to hunting people on page 27 which is proven when Zaroff said," 'It must have courage, cunning, and, above all, is must be able to reason’” and when he says, "My dear fellow, said the general, there is one that can”. This was suspenseful because it foreshadows that Rainsford is in trouble of being hunted and that we now know why Ship Trap Island is so dangerous also the setting isn’t so bad since Zaroff keeps his home nice except for the dogs in cages in which this shows Zaroff is cruel.

4. The setting was suspenseful since Rainsford appeared out of nowhere from the curtains by Zaroff bed and it shows Rainsford has manned up to Zaroff before he kills him. The 3 rd most important event is when Rainsford ended up winning the game and survived, that and he killed Iven and General Zaroff which is told on page 36 as “The general made one of his deepest bows. “I see” he said.”splendid!One of us is to furnish repast for the hounds. The other will sleep in this very excellent bed. On guard, Rainsford….” He had never slept in a better bed, Rainsford decided.
