Clovers Connected Classroom Welcome to Our district mission is to prepare each child for a successful, productive and responsible future. Teacher will fully embrace and integrate technology tools into his/her daily instruction, as well as develop personal technical skills to enhance effectiveness and productivity. Teacher will utilize technology to effectively differentiate and personalize instruction to meet the individual needs of students. Teacher will provide technology support to students as needed to complete learning tasks. Technology will be used as an enhancement to rather than a substitute for classroom instruction. Connected Teacher Pledge

Students will have access to a mobile computing device in the Connected Classrooms. Internet access will be filtered and monitored. Content and production apps will be loaded onto devices and instruction on use will be given. Students will be issued cloud based storage and accounts for school use. Connected Classroom Teachers will instruct students in appropriate use of the Internet and device use as it pertains to the classroom. District Responsibilities

Students will have a specific device to use at school and will be responsible for its use and care. The device is to remain in its protective case and free of marks and stickers not issued by the district. File management and uploading assignments are the students responsibility. Time will be given at school to ensure access to the network. The devices are to be used as instructed. Use outside of appropriate times or that is inappropriate will result in consequences. Damages are to be reported immediately to the teacher. Student Responsibilities

Discuss your expectations for age-appropriate device use (Internet, camera, social communication, etc.) Monitor your students activity of the device at home. Ensure proper care and maintenance when device is at home. Contact law enforcement to file a report if the device is lost or stolen off campus. Devices are for student use. The proper use and content of the device is the responsibility of the student regardless of whether another user may have accessed the device. Parent/Guardian Responsibilities

The device should remain in its district issued case. Covers should be free of marks and stickers. Care should be used when plugging in headphones or the charging cable. Only a dry, soft cloth should be used to clean the screen. Do NOT bump, throw, or lean on the device. The screen is fragile and could crack. NEVER leave the device in an unlocked car, locker or other unsupervised place. Protecting Your Device

Although each student is assigned a device, the device is the property of the district. Use will be monitored. The care, use of, and content on the mobile device is the assigned students responsibility. Inappropriate or intentional misuse of the device will result in disciplinary action which may include, but is not limited to, repossession of the device. Damage and loss fees can be found in the Mobile Computing Guide. Responsibilities In Summary

Digital Citizenship is a concept that helps students understand how to use technology appropriately in a society full of technology. The district expects students to use technology appropriately and responsibly whether in electronic communication or participation. The district has electronic precautions in place in order for students to participate safely and securely in this environment and enjoy the rights of a digital world in an educational setting. You can find tip sheets for sharing age appropriate concepts with your students at: Digital Citizenship
