Mention the calculator letter – recommendation by the math department for students to have their own graphing calculators – its an investment but can be used all through high school

2. All students at SAHS will receive a laptop computer…
All students at SAHS will receive a laptop computer….we were the first school in the district to pilot this program
This allows our students to have up to date information and resources for classroom use
It is important that they take care of it. Students will have this computer for all four years of high school, and will have the option to purchase it for $20. .

3. 1:1 General Information Computer is a privilege and can be revoked
Follow all rules in student handbook for internet usage
Laptops are for student use
Broken or damaged computers will result in loss of computer until repairs are made if your student has not paid the technology fee ($20/$40 for family)
Student and parent are responsible for reimbursement for damage due to misuse
Unacceptable/inappropriat e use can result in discipline consequence and/or loss of privileges
Go through the information- talk about the contract they signed; point out that paying the fee is highly recommended but will not cover intentional abuse; an electronic copy of the contract is included in the handbook

5. Blackboard/Google Classroom
Online program utilized across Ascension Parish for instructional purposes
Teachers post syllabi, calendars, announcements, notes, and assignments online.

Parents can access students’ grades through blackboard using Powerschool

7. Kickboard is resource to help support students with behavior.
Goal: To keep small problems small and provide individual interventions before a problem becomes a major referral.
It is an online resource where teachers and admins will identify and track positive and negative behaviors of students.

8. Parents and students have access to this account and can see behaviors recorded daily.
Notes should accompany negative behaviors.
Acct info and directions are available today in the hall.
Mobile App available for both iPhone or Androids.

9. STA App FREE - in the App Store Type in “St. Amant High School”
Lots of information available: documents, s, reminders, dates to remember, direct contact to all staff
one of the quickest and easiest communication tools

10. Needs Assessment Please take our parent needs assessment
We have a needs assessment put together by guidance department to determine some ways we can make this transition to high school as smooth as possible.
