Final Presentation Using to Create a Classroom Website By Eddie Mathews EDTC 6332: Practicum

Ultimate Goal of Project The ultimate goal of my design project is to help high school teachers in Kerrville ISD create a classroom-based website designed to increase communication with their students and promote collaboration among the students.

Audience / Learning Context The audience is six high school teachers at Kerrville ISD (Tivy High School) All teachers have computer experience and has a basic familiarity of Google Docs The mode of delivery is asynchronous (self-guided eCourse) I was able to meet with each teacher to discuss their goals and ensure they have working computers in their classroom

What I Accomplished To realize my ultimate project goal, I had to accomplish the following: Develop a design document that clearly describes the instructional plan and solution Develop instructional lessons and materials according to effective design principles Adhere to good project management guidelines to deliver solution by deadline

Difference between Initial Plan and End Product My initial plan was good but like all drafts, lots of small things were missing I decided to create instructional solution using Google Sites instead of using a past website creation I had to redo some sections after I realized that confused context-related steps My project schedule constantly changed because of my work situation

Lessons Learned I learned that web-based tools, like Google Sites, can change automatically without notice I learned that I had forgotten some of the design procedures of D & C so had to relearn them again I learned that using some of my past projects as examples is both good and bad I learned that project management is a very valuable thing but a hard thing to master Getting summer volunteers is tricky I learned that working without sleep is not good since you will later have to rework mistakes

Thank You! Any Questions?
