Wiltshire County Update

NEW WILTSHIRE WEBSITE www.wiltshiretennis.org.uk Pleased to confirm the launch of our new Wiltshire Tennis website  www.wiltshiretennis.org.uk   This site is dedicated to tennis in Wiltshire. Previously our web presence has been via the main LTA website. This new website will give us the ability to deliver Wiltshire content and resources.  We are adding content to the site on a regular basis and if there is any tournament or event you would like us to help promote or have any successes at your club please do let us know.

NEW LTA PERFORMANCE STRATEGY At the start of the year the LTA announced the new 10 year performance strategy (2018-2028). This is a 10 year vision for British Tennis that aims to make Great Britain one of the most respected nations in the world for player development by creating a seamless Player Pathway.  Part of this Player Pathway will be County Training.  County Training will provide regular opportunities for the best players in the county to train and compete with one another.  This programme will aim to accelerate the development of players aged 7-14 to create competition for places at Regional Training & the NAGP (National Age Group Programme) and to retain more young players in regular training and competition through to age 18.

WILTSHIRE COUNTY TRAINING 2018/19 County training will be delivered by local coaches who have specialised training and a track record of working with county performance players.  There will be 10 camps at the 8U, 9U, 10U, 12U and 14U age groups and 3 sessions for the 18U age group The Wiltshire County Training lead contact is Neil Watts Tel: 07810 522628 Email: neilcwatts@yahoo.co.uk
