Learning Target Today, I will learn key elements of the Naviance program and post-secondary options. So that I have a better understanding of the Naviance program and explore my goals in relation to post-secondary plans. I know I will have it when I have completed the game plan survey on Naviance and also have an action plan to prepare me for my senior year.

Naviance Family Connection Students can search prospective colleges Can explore interests and career pathways Take a personality assessment Track college and scholarship applications Request official transcripts Sign up for college visits at Mesa Ridge (Second semester) Receive reminders from the Counseling Center

Naviance Resource Change email address in profile to one you use daily Create tasks and goals for future Create a Plan of Study or ICAP Create Resume Links to important websites – NCAA, FAFSA, SAT Tasks assigned from Counselors Can access anytime

Importance of SAT It measures what you have learned Colleges/Universities use this for admission and course placement Relationship between score and college readiness All juniors must take in April The test that you take at Mesa Ridge does not qualify for NCAA High Scores help with admission and scholarship criteria

ACT and SAT Fall Test Dates ACT - Oct. 28th (register by Sept 22nd) - Dec. 9th (register by Nov. 3rd) SAT – Oct. 7th (register by Sept. 8th) - Nov 4th (register by Oct. 5th) Practice tests

SAT Preparation Create College Board account and link PSAT to Khan Academy. The Khan Academy will create a personalized study program for students. Students are also able to access practice tests. Research and purchase practice books Perform successfully in class

NCAA Eligibility Students will need to meet specific requirements to receive athletics aid, practice, and compete their first year of college. For more information about NCAA go to www.eligibilitycenter.org Students will also need to register with NCAA Clearinghouse before entering college. Credit Recovery, D3MyWay, Tech Writing, and the SAT taken in April at Mesa Ridge High School do not count towards NCAA eligibility.
