Optical Performance 96% Reflective Paint o Finelite uses 96% reflective paint on all reflective surfaces of Series 15 for maximum efficiency.

Optical Performance Double Diffusing Optical Design - How it works One ray of light travels from the lamp up to the upper reflector (A), which is 96% reflective, or (B) down to the micro prism. When the ray goes through the micro prism it is duplicated and redirected, spreading one beam into many. 23% of the light passes through the perforations (C) for the downlight component. Light also bounces off the 96% reflective finish between the perforations and is redirected back up into the micro prism where it is multiplied again. The majority of light goes out of the fixture (D) at low angles for optimal wide-angle distribution. Other rays are redirected to the upper reflector where the light bounces again to repeat the process (E). The interaction between the micro prism and the perforations forms the double diffusing optical system.
