Assignment: Create a contour line drawing using variety in the measure of the lines to translate the lines of a pair of shoes. Process for creating the drawing: Create a compositionally interesting combination of the shoes on the table. Be sure each side of the table has an interesting view. Use your viewfinder to find an interesting composition. Be sure to fill your sheet of paper with the composition. Sketch your view out in your sketchbook. Draw studies of the areas you may find difficult to draw at first. When you are ready to go onto the final drawing, lightly sketch the contours in. Add details, refine the lines, and use the thickness and value of the line in order to get a sense of the weight of the shoe. Sign the drawing in the lower right hand corner. Do not overwhelm the drawing with your signature!
