Engagement Activities on offer from the BGL Academy Building the next Customer Service Talent

What we can offer BGL would like to support your career education and can support with the following engaging activities: Apprenticeship information and support Assemblies to year 10 and above BGL Apprenticeship talks that last 30 - 60 minutes Attendance at your Career fairs/conventions to offer advice and guidance Employability skills CV writing workshops Mock interview sessions Work experience opportunities

Assemblies We offer assembly presentations on the BGL Customer Service Apprenticeship scheme catered to students in year 10 and above. Assemblies offer increased knowledge of other career options available Increased confidence when deciding career options Assemblies can be catered for whole year groups if you have the capacity. Duration: 15 – 30 minutes Providing up to date information about the BGL customer service Apprenticeship and Apprenticeships in general.

Apprenticeship Talks Informative Classroom talks and workshops to help inform and guide people about Apprenticeships. Duration - 30-60 minutes to accommodate schedules Give more informed information about the BGL Academy Customer Service Apprenticeship Allow people to make more informed decisions about the options that are available to them. These talks allow people to ask BGL questions specific to Apprenticeships, BGL and Customer service

Careers Fairs and Conventions We can offer our BGL information and guidance around Apprenticeships and more specifically what BGL can offer, some of the types of events we can accommodate are: Careers fairs or conventions with attendance from both parents and students Parental/student drop-in advice and guidance evenings allowing BGL to deliver their expert advice Allow students to meet BGL face-to-face Allow you to see what Apprenticeship opportunities are available from us at this moment in time or in the pipeline.

CV Writing We can offer support with advice and guidance on CV formatting, offering students the following: Awareness of how to use a CV to sell yourself Understanding of effective content and formatting What BGL as a company look for in applicant CV’s

Employability Skills Classroom talks and workshops to help inform and guide people about employment skills that could benefit them in employment and an Apprenticeship Benefit from increased confidence, aspirations and motivation to progress into employment and skills development. Understanding of Employment skills that are beneficial and the benefits of school subjects and achieving their full potential

Mock Interviews BGL can offer advice and guidance on any mock interview preparation you may offer, which creates an interview situation as close to reality as possible. BGL can offer individual constructive feedback and guidance in a low- stress environment Understanding of employer expectations from BGL Can reduce interview anxiety by ensuring you are familiar with the situation

Work Experience BGL can offer work experience opportunities to people who are looking to enhance their skillset. Work experience opportunities at BGL can offer the following: Improvement in communication skills Supervised and structured, hands-on experience Skills that will be recognised in other workplaces Benefits from improved self-confidence and self-esteem Understanding of the day-to-day operations in a workplace Ensures that participants are able to make more informed choices
