Who are you? Why do you want this job? Why should we give you this job? Four bullet points Stand up, shake hands and introduce yourself!

14 Documents: Personal Statement Introduces you briefly
Identifies each item on a formal PS and shows how you meet that requirement. CV Career statement / Profile introduces you Bullet points – should be scannable Gives full details of when & where. Cover letter Introduces you in prose Tells a story. Human CV?

If you are successful, you will probably be offered the job on the day. Therefore, you need to decide as much as possible in advance whether you will accept .

18 What to expect Informal talks with key personnel (Headteacher, deputies, head of subject) A tour of the school and possibly lunch Teaching a lesson Marking A written task (eg. analysing data) An interview with the School Council or student reps A presentation

19 What are interviewers looking for?
Competent to teach Fit in with existing staff Be able to make a valuable contribution Be sympathetic with how the school is managed Able to develop in ways which will benefit the school
