Education and Training Statistics Working Group – 16-17 June 2015 Completion rates The issue of improving completion rates in higher education is strongly linked to European priorities of promoting employability and employment, social justice and growth Data on completion rates and average duration in higher education is currently being collected through the UOE data collection, without a legal basis. Education and Training Statistics Working Group – 16-17 June 2015 Completion rates In the past months, Eurostat has undertaken an assessment of the data quality and the methodological framework in view of a possible new data collection The results will be discussed with DG EAC and OECD A new data collection could be proposed at the end of the year, on a voluntary basis, with a new questionnaire and improved guidelines OECD Members will be informed during the INES WG meeting in October Education and Training Statistics Working Group – 16-17 June 2015

Education and Training Statistics Working Group – 16-17 June 2015 Summary The ETS WG has been informed that all the UOE questionnaires and the manual should be sent before the end of June. Few adaptations have been brought compared to last year. An additional request (individual ages) will be included in the LANG questionnaire. The ETS WG has been informed that a new data collection on completion rates could be proposed at the end of the year, in collaboration with the OECD and on a voluntary basis, with a new questionnaire and improved guidelines.
