3 UOE17 data collection Overall good results in data quality
Improvement is needed in timeliness Table 1. Share of country questionnaires submitted more than two weeks after the deadline in Commission Regulation 912/2013 ENRL ENTR PERS LANG REGIO FIN GRAD CREDMOB to be provided by 30 September 2017 by 30 November 2017 10/36 9/36 11/36 2/35 7/25 8/36 3/36 28% 25% 30% 6% 22% 8% Eurostat Education and Training Statistics Working Group - Luxembourg, June 2018

4 UOE17 – Use of data Timeliness is important in the context of use of data for policy needs at EU level: - Education and Training Monitor - UOE expenditure data for ESTAT PPP calculation - UOE expenditure data ESF SCO (Standard Cost Options) Eurostat Education and Training Statistics Working Group - Luxembourg, June 2018

5 UOE17- Quality reports Quality reports: 13 not yet submited (BE, BG, CZ, DE, EE, IE, GR, LU, IS, ME, MK, RS, TR) Updated ISCED mappings: 9 not yet submited (BE, BG, CZ, GR, IT, UK, IS, ME, RS) Reminders will be sent out. Eurostat Education and Training Statistics Working Group - Luxembourg, June 2018

6 UOE17 - Data transmission/processing
Use of eDAMIS (Eurostat standard transmission tool) Countries are recommended: To use eDAMIS for all questionnaires To inform the UOE team of any change in their organisation having an impact on the data transmission Eurostat Education and Training Statistics Working Group - Luxembourg, June 2018 6

7 Quick pre-check by Eurostat on the quality of data submission.
UOE17 – Data processing Quick pre-check by Eurostat on the quality of data submission. Minimum requirements: NO mixing of flags in data value field. Not too many empty data items (either value or flag) ENRL and FIN questionnaires still most rejected at the pre-check level. Eurostat Education and Training Statistics Working Group - Luxembourg, June 2018 7

8 UOE17 – Data validation Validation of UOE questionnaires from October 2017 to June 2018: for five common questionnaires (ENRL, ENTR, PERS, GRAD and FIN) carried out jointly by Eurostat and OECD for EU and OECD countries and separately by Eurostat for EU and candidate non-OECD countries for three Eurostat-specific questionnaires (LANG, REGIO, CREDMOB) carried out by Eurostat Eurostat Education and Training Statistics Working Group - Luxembourg, June 2018
