2 Commission Regulation No 912/2013
Challenges of the first year of ISCED2011 implementation in UOE: New data collected: ISCED 0; tertiary education with ISCED levels 5, 6, 7, and 8; breakdowns by orientation academic and professional ISCED 6 and 7; data on completion at 3-digit ISCED level New questionnaires: 7 improved and SDMX-compliant questionnaires with new format, separation of value, flags and comments, fill-in area and automatic data checks Positive excercise with globally good results in data quality, but negative impact on timeliness Eurostat Education and Training Statistics Working Group - Luxembourg, June 2015

3 Compliance monitoring
By 30 September 2014 Enrolments, entrants, personnel, foreign languages, enrolments at regional level By 30 November 2014 Graduates Education expenditure Quality reports to be sent by 31 January 2015 A report on the application of the Regulation should be presented by Eurostat to the European Directors of Social Statistics in September 2015 Eurostat Education and Training Statistics Working Group - Luxembourg, June 2015

4 Timeliness 13 countries (out of 35) sent the questionnaires according to the legal deadlines 9 countries sent the questionnaires within the month following the legal deadline 13 countries sent from 1 to 7 questionnaires more than one month after the legal deadline Questionnaire on FINANCE seems to be the most problematic Countries are recommended: To improve the timeliness in UOE2015 this year To respect the deadlines without jeopardising data quality To inform Eurostat in case of structural problem Eurostat Education and Training Statistics Working Group - Luxembourg, June 2015 4

5 Data quality (excluding timeliness)
Globally the quality of the information has been assessed as good or acceptable (according to our data checks) Problems linked to new data and questionnaires as well as recurrent problems in few countries (dealt with bilaterally by Eurostat) Countries are recommended: To estimate missing information (and to improve their estimates if necessary) To provide appropriate metadata so that end users are properly informed To anticipate the end of existing derogations Eurostat Education and Training Statistics Working Group - Luxembourg, June 2015 5
