This is my 4th year teaching 1st grade at Magnolia Parkway! I received my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Sam Houston State University. I have been married for 16 years and I have 3 children.

First Grade has a standards-based report card and will not receive an official report card during the first nine weeks. However, assignments that come home in the Tuesday folder will reflect the student’s progress. In lieu of a 1st Nine Week report card, we will schedule a parent/teacher conference in October to discuss your child’s progress thus far.

Students may bring a water bottle to keep in class. We will have a snack each day. Students may bring a healthy snack of their own or they will be provided one. I will provide class snacks the 1st couple of weeks and will set up a Sign-Up Genius for thereafter.

Planner : Used to communicate your child’s day when necessary and for news. This is where any notes from home can be attached. Please do not write transportation changes or absence note directly into the planner as the notes are sent to the front office. Please sign or initial nightly. Tuesday Folder :Will go home on Tuesdays with work and important papers. Please sign form, review and keep papers unless otherwise stated, and return folder on Wednesdays. Homework Folder : Will go home every Monday with a “Neighborhood Newsletter” of weekly homework and events. Check this sheet daily for our weekly words and important information. Please help your child be a successful and responsible student by reviewing this calendar and his/her work each night. Please return folder on Friday with completed homework and the take-home reader they have read all week.

Various volunteer opportunities are available throughout the year for class parties and events. Information regarding these opportunities will be sent out as needed.
