HOW TO RUN FOR A POSITION

WHAT POSITIONS CAN YOU RUN FOR? Club level positions: President: Vice President Some clubs may choose to have more than one Vice President as well as Editor (not Bulletin Editor) Secretary Treasurer Bulletin Editor

Divisional: International: District: Lieutenant Governor President Secretary Treasurer Tech Editor You can also apply for one of 6 committee chair positions International: President Vice President Trustee (11) There are 11 trustee positions available. Each trustee is in charge of representing 3 of the 33 districts.

HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHAT POSITION TO RUN FOR First, ask yourself: What kind of leadership position do you want to serve? What experiences/talents do you have? What position fits you the best? What would you like to accomplish during your term? What kind of workload can you personally handle? After deciding what to run for, make sure to understand the duties of the respective position and that you know you will succeed on a business professional level.

ELECTIONS Club officer candidates run for elections during a club meeting in which club members will elect the new officers. Lt. Governor candidates run for election at their division Conclave, hosted by your current LTG or multiple LTGs.

District candidates ask for divisional endorsement (approval by the home division) at Conclave, and officially run for election at District Convention. International candidates ask for divisional endorsement at Conclave, district endorsement at District Convention, and run for election at International Convention (ICON) and members from around the world elect the new International Board.

PREPARATION Talk to/inform your lt. Governor for help and details about postion List out and organize your ideas and plans you have for the position Attend the training conference for a divisional, district, or international position hosted in jan/feb Don’t hesitate to ask your LTG or other IP officers for help!
