#getyourrights #youthwatch Your rights in the NHS #getyourrights #youthwatch

“We’re a group of 14-25 year old volunteers that work with Healthwatch Leeds. We listen to the views of children and young people on how services like doctors, dentists and social workers could be made better for them. We make sure their voices are heard.”

By the end of the session you should: Aim of this session: To learn about your rights when accessing NHS health services By the end of the session you should: Know what your rights are in the NHS Be able to use those rights to determine whether you receive good or bad care Know what to do if you don’t feel your rights have been met or you got bad care.

What do we mean by NHS Health services?

https://youtu.be/qnqTJ8-N3Q0

What can I do if my rights aren’t met or I get bad care? You can make a complaint (anyone can do this – you don’t have to be over 16) You can get free help to make a complaint from an organisation called LIHCA. You can contact Healthwatch’s Information and advice line 0113 8980035. www.getyourrights.org.uk

Evaluation What have you learnt from today’s session? After this session, do you think you’re more likely to take action if you think your rights haven’t been met? What could we do to make the session better?
