2 What do we want to change?
For disabled people: To have a LIFE and not just a service To be able to play a full and active role in their communities For communities: To make the best of their strengths To be given the skills, knowledge and understanding to help them include all their members

3 What people WANT What people DON’T WANT
To be independent To feel part of their community, and able to give back To have all the things that non-disabled people take for granted; a job, relationships, be able to take risks What people DON’T WANT To be a passive recipient of care To be shipped off to specialist services e.g. day services To be seen as a list of ‘needs’, or a problem that needs to be solved

People are involved in the design, implementation and evaluation of services which are there to support people to live this life

7 “nothing about us without us”
Co-production “nothing about us without us” Co-production is an equal relationship between people who use services and the people responsible for services. They work together, from design to delivery, sharing strategic decision making about policies as well as decisions about the best way to deliver services.
