ETSI – CEN Recommendations Need of a Public – Private Partnership for the development of standards through an efficient CEN – ETSI Co-operation. A required Minimum Set of Standards shall ensure interoperability across Europe. European Standardization shall be in line with the European co-operative system deployment strategy. International harmonization is required. But Europe shall be able to develop a consistent and stable offer to put in the balance. Conclusions / Recommendations (1) Single Worldwide EV charging plug is required: IEC & SAE must work together to standardize this plug. For EV and associated battery, ISO & IEC cooperation is working well. Must be continued and extended for other parts of EV For In-Vehicle architecture & Protocols a joint working group between ITU-T and ISO is wished For ITU-T, SG16 seems the right candidate For ISO, TC204 seems the right candidate As NGN will interface the vehicle to the telecommunication word (V2I to NGN or directly V to NGN) a better collaboration between ITU-T SG13 and ISO TC204 (and ETSI ITS) is wished. Conclusions / Recommendations (2) Each region has each own particularity and own agenda deployment (i.g. M/453 for Europe or V2V priority deployment for US in 2013), a close cooperation between regional SDO and ITU-T / ISO is required. Mechanisms to increase this cooperation must be defined (joint working groups, CTO group recommendations, GSC recommendations, Focus groups, ..) The Fully Networked Car Geneva, 3-4 March 2010
