Let’s get it started -black eyed peas Introducing: M.A.P Timeline

How is the world structured? Into Continents and Oceans Africa Atlantic Ocean Asia Pacific Ocean Europe Indian Ocean North America Arctic Ocean South America Antarctica Australia

How do We Show the WORLD? 3 Types of Map projections Cylindrical projection shows globe as a cylinder; accurate at equator but distorted at poles Conic projection places a cone over globe; shows east to west areas not far from the equator Planar projection shows Earth from the Center; most of the time it shows North and South poles

How do we determine location? Earth is divided into Hemispheres one of the halves of the 4 Hemispheres Northern (north of Equator) Southern (south of Equator) Eastern( east of Prime Meridian) Western (West of Prime Meridian)

Longitude and latitude aka parallels circle the equator measures distance from Equator Longitude aka meridians measures East and West of Prime Meridian

How is time measured? BC “Before Christ” -left side of timeline goes from high to low AD “Anno Domini” -right side of timeline goes from low to high
