Presentation transcript:

7th Grade Pre-AP Math Mrs. Parks Grading: Textbook: lparks@frenship.us 806-796-0076 ext. 231 Conference Period: 5th Period 12:15 – 1:15 Grading: Weights: *Formative (assignments) – 60% *Summative (tests and quizzes) – 40% Homework: Students will complete weekly cumulative reviews. This assignment is 12-16 problems that I will assign each Friday, and it will be due the next Friday. These questions will cover material previously taught. You will have a Cumulative Review Quiz after every 3 Cumulative Reviews so it is important the student gives their best effort and completes them entirely by themselves! **Pre-AP students must maintain an 85 average to remain in that course. Progress will be checked every 3 weeks. The first time a student does not maintain an 85 average during a 3 week interval, they will be placed on probation and parent contact will be made. Any student who is on a probationary status and does not maintain an 85 average will be placed into a general course in that subject area upon parent contact.  **For specific policy criteria, please refer to the handout your child received in their Social Studies classroom stating the Terra Vista Middle School grading policy, or refer to the TVMS website. Textbook: The 7th grade math textbook is digital and can be accessed at http://my.hrw.com Students will have access to the textbook 24/7 using their log in information. Cell phones, food and toys: Cell phones - will not be needed in the math classroom. We have iPads for any technology needs. If a cell phone is out and becomes a distraction, it will be taken up and given to the office for further action. Food and drink – will not be allowed into the math classroom due to iPads being used. The only exception will be a bottle of water with a lid. Toys – will not allowed in the math classroom due to distraction. Rubik's cubes, fidget spinners and cubes, along with any other toys will be taken up and given to the office for further action. iPads: Math classrooms are equipped with a class set of iPads. Students and parents will be required to sign the iPad Usage Agreement before students will be allowed to use them in class. We also ask that all students have earbuds for use when needed during instruction. The iPads will remain in the classroom at all times.

Want to know what’s going on in your child’s math class?? Math Classroom School Supplies: 1 inch or 1.5 inch 3-ring binder Set of dividers Twin pocket folder Earbuds Pencils Red Pens Glue General 7th grade school supplies: Kleenex Hand sanitizer Notebook paper Clorox Wipes Expo Markers Highlighters Colored Pencils Want to know what’s going on in your child’s math class?? Please make sure your email in Skyward is working and correct. I will send weekly reports with attached grade sheets so that you are aware of your child’s progress in class. These reports will show class average, assignments, tests, and any missing assignments as well. I also code the assignments, therefore, you will be able to see if any work is late and/or if corrections have been made or denied. Also, please feel free to email or call me with any questions or concerns. Expectations: My Classroom Webpage: Please “subscribe” to my classroom webpage. I have a calendar with updated events that will be helpful for your family planning, along with resources and other beneficial class information. I will also send home a click sheet for you to “subscribe” to your child’s class, so you can get updates on when and what assignments are due!
