2. COURSE DESCRIPTION & OBJECTIVES This course is based on a national organization called Project Lead the Way. Project Lead the Way offers several different engineering courses and formats. Engineering Design and Development is the final installment of the PLTW training program. In EDD students continue to study the engineering profession and build on the common approach to the solution of engineering problems, and the engineering design process. Students will solve open-ended projects and problems that require them to develop planning, documentation, communication, and other professional skill-sets. MY GOAL: “Building enthusiasm for and a real understanding of role, impact and practice of engineering is a primary goal of this course” – PLTW website

3. COURSE EXPECTATIONS Homework Quizzes Tests Lab work and reports 1-4 large projects will be required Final Presentation will take place during the spring semester around March

CLASSROOM RULES BE RESPECTFUL OF SELF AND OTHERS This is a classroom with many personalities and a common goal of succeeding in this class and in life - show respect, it is a direct cause of success BE RESPONSIBLE Students are in their assigned seat when the bell rings Students will have a pencil to write with, and an eraser during the entire class This classroom is a computer lab – all food, gum and drinks will remain in the holding area at the back of the classroom before class begins, until the bell rings CELL PHONES are to remain in the Cell Phone holding area at the front of the class in silent mode until the bell rings The safety and wellbeing of all individuals in the classroom is of utmost importance STUDENT HANDBOOK – All Rules Apply
