What is Health? Health - the conditions of a person’s body, mind, emotions, and relationships

Dimensions of Wellness There are 6 dimensions of wellness Physical Intellectual Emotional Social Environmental Spiritual

Physical Condition of a person’s body Examples: exercise, proper nutrition, flexibility, preventive care, avoiding abusive substances

Intellectual Mind, involves curiosity and ongoing learning, to pursue and retain knowledge, think critically about issues, make sound decisions, identify problems, and find solutions Examples: applying things you have learned, creativity, curiosity.

Emotional Feelings, acceptance of your feelings and self-image, develop positive qualities Examples: self-expression, self-control, self-evaluation, self- confidence

Social Relationships with others Examples: ability to make friends, cooperate with others, involved with community, teamwork

Environmental Quality of environment Examples: clean air, pure water, quality food, shelter, personal safety, safe working conditions, recycling, carpools

Spiritual Searching for meaning and purpose in human existence Examples: beliefs, values, morals, religious beliefs
