Student Steps to Funding Submit the online MOWR application by visiting www.GACollege411.org. The student will complete the application prior to every enrolled term at GMC. If a student is taking courses during the “fifth” term, this application is not required. 11/19/2018

Student Steps to Funding 11/19/2018

Student Steps to Funding 11/19/2018

Student Steps to Funding Complete the 2016-2017 Student Participation Form. The form must be signed by the student, parent, and the guidance counselor. If a student is taking courses during the “fifth” term, this form is required. *Form is located in your packet 11/19/2018

HS Counselor Steps to Funding Once the drop/add period is completed (Week One), the MOWR applications must be approved in STARS. We prefer for all student schedules to be set before any applications are approved. Guidance Counselors can approve students’ applications in STARS for only the courses the students are currently enrolled in. If you approve the application prior to Week One, we risk applications being rejected by GMC due to incorrect course listings. Once applications are approved, communication to GMC on any students who did not populate in STARS is crucial. 11/19/2018

GMC Counselor Steps to Funding 11/19/2018 Once the HS Counselor approves the application in STARS, the Financial Aid Counselors at GMC pull the application in SURFER. If the courses listed on a STARS application do not match what the student is currently enrolled in, the application is rejected in SURFER. A rejected application returns to STARS in order for the HS Counselor to correct and reapprove it. The application is approved and funds are awarded to the student’s account.

State Deadlines and Textbooks 11/19/2018 All MOWR applications need to be approved in STARS between Week Two & Week 8. Students will not be able to register for any upcoming terms until all balance holds are removed. Textbook costs are included in MOWR funding along with GMC scholarship funds. Textbooks must be returned to GMC after the end of the term. Unreturned textbooks will result in a $50 late fee.

Requesting a Transcript 11/19/2018 Students need to request their official transcript to be sent to the high school at the end of each term. All requests must come from the students. Transcripts cannot be requested until all balance holds are removed. Students can request their transcripts by logging into the GMC Student Portal website http://portal.gmc.edu/.
