Poor stress management

Discussion Question What role does disease prevention play in your own choice about physical activity? What about for your family members? Will your attitude change as you age?

Physical Activity & Weight Control Good eating habit and a physically active lifestyle can help you maintain a healthy weight and avoid obesity Metabolism: the process by which your body gets energy from food. Food’s energy value is measured in units of heat called calories. Physical activity increases your metabolic rate burning more calories than when at rest.

Weight Control Basal Metabolism: minimum amount of energy (calories) needed for life processes in body. Your body needs a sufficient amount of calories each day to function properly. Additional calories must be burned or will be stored as fat. When you are physically active, your metabolic rate rises and your body burns more calories than when at rest.
